Cracking morning out in Porterstown  for Raheny GAA U10's tussles with Castleknock.

We had a very good turn out numbers wise given that it was a bank holiday weekend - 26 boys arrived in Porterstown ready for action.

In game 1 our green team had a ding dong battle with their Castleknock opponents. Conor K was welcomed back for his first Gaelic football game in some time and put in a great performance. He was aided by Ruairi who played in backs midfield and goal and also Matthew McG who weighed in with his usual few delightful scores. Ciaran made some super blocks, all our boys should follow his lead, he has this skill down to a fine art.

Well done to both teams on a high scoring encounter, in which Raheny improved after the half time whistle to close the gap to 4 points 42-38.

In game 2 our white team were bolstered by the addition of Daniel and Johnny and apart from a 5 minute period just after half time they were the match of Castleknock. As well as the 2 boys Ross gave his all as did Paul. Castleknock held on to win by a couple of scores.

Game 3 featured our gold team. Roman scored a great point to start off his birthday in style! Every boy on the team put in an outstanding morning's work and Raheny won this game well. Unfair to single anyone out so big thumbs up to Kevin, Jay, Cormac, Ben, Jacques, Roman, Morgan, Stefan, Robert & Danny. This was the best performance from our gold team this year. To keep improving all the boys need to really practice their skills (hurling and football) and park the X boxes for a while. Well done lads!

Thanks to all players, parents and mentors for their ongoing commitment and support. Don't forget boys always to make Friday night an early night. We need to get a proper nights sleep before our matches.

Next Saturday we are back out to Porterstown for our U10 hurling blitz against Castleknock and St Judes. We will need to meet out there at 9.30 so we can get our warm up and teams sorted.

Gaelic football training Tuesday at 5.50pm on pitch1 and hurling Wednesday at 3pm on club astro and again hurling Thursday at 7pm on club astro.
