Senior A Camogie through to County Championship Final.

posted Sep 26, 2011, 2:33 AM by Raheny GAA Camogie

The Senior camogie team went into the Semi-Final vs. Naomh Judes in Trinity Gaels grounds having already progressed further than ever before at that level. Raheny continued to make history as they edged out Naomh Jude (0-9 : 0-8) to reach their first Senior A championship final in the clubs history.

Captained by Martina Byrne, the girls fought until the final whistle to secure an impressive win over a Jude's side that  never gave up. Raheny had a two point advantage at half time but with five minutes to go the teams we're level. Raheny scored again and held on until the end to record a fantastic victory and secure a place in the championship final next week. Scorers on the day were Siobhan Curran (0-5, 0-4f), Aoife Kelly (0-2), Hannah Larmon (0-1) and Ciara Burgess (0-1).

The girls will now meet defending champions Ballyboden St. Endas in the final next Sunday in Parnell Park at 11.00am.

Club members are encouraged to come out and support the girls next Sunday. All support would be greatly appreciated.
