Following a successful Under 11 season and a winter of celebrating, we entered this years campaign with optimism. However, due to injuries and other forms of absenteeism we soon discovered that victories would only be earned through teamwork, tackling and training. Losses to Peregrines, Faughs and Brids were quickly and sadly incurred. We entered the Summer break with two very encouraging displays against Mearnogs and Good Councel, both losses but it was quite clear that this team was discovering its MOJO, 0 and 5 but we were alive.

During the Summer all the girls turned up regularly for training in which fitness was the order of the day, whether they knew it or not they ran their socks off at every session while always continuing to have fun. Andrea, Olivia K, Ciara and Anna also attended the Dublin U12 Camogie Summer School and would show their team mates the skills they learnt every Tuesday which was of great benefit to everyone, coaches included.

The second half of the season commenced and we bore the fruits of our hard work. Ballinteer and their best player fell victim (Ciara)!to our hard work and to the noise levels of all the parents on the sideline that day.

Another 2 points away to Cuala in the lashings of rain soon followed. Arguably the next game against Plunketts was our best display in the league. It resulted in a head scratching 1pt loss but the whole team “Grew Up” that day and realised what they were capable of as a “TEAM”. We travelled to Olafs and secured an amusing victory (Andrea)! before rounding off the season with a victory against an experimental Vincents team and a draw versus our good friends Brids.

A trip to Wexford is organised for November 19th, during which we will play Naomh Eanna of Gorey and then proceed to GRAVITY to scare the life out of ourselves – God Love Us

Thanks for keeping us skinny, Dave, Denis, Ciaran and Joe.
