AFL2 lost to Fingallians. AFL5 won v Erins Isle. AFL9 drew with Na Fianna mid-week and won v St Sylvesters. AFL11 lost to Round Towers[L] mid-week and to St.Josephs/OCB. Minor hurlers had a good away win v St Peregrines. U15s won v Good Counsel and U12 f/blrs won v Ballymun Kickhams.U14 h/rlrs lost narrowly to Fingallians. Senior camogie lost to OP/ER and U12s lost to Naomh Mearnog.

The Schools around the Corner,Scoil Aine[camogie],St.Brigids Boys[hurling] and Scoil Assam[hurling] all play in finals in Croke Park next w/end. Congratulations to all involved and the best of luck from all in Raheny GAA.

Good to see David Henry back in action with the Dubs and good luck to senior Dub h/rlrs v Offaly next Sun. Duffy Cup win for f/blrs v St.Peregrines.

Summer Camps will run from July 18th-22nd.[CLUB]. Aug. [15th-19th [VHI Cul Camp]and Aug. 22nd-26th. [CLUB] Application forms will be in club and distributed in local schools next month.Early booking is advisable.

  • A date for your diary, Saturday 25th June, Raheny Business Association in conjucntion with local business, sports clubs and Dublin City Council have arranged a OPEN DAY in Raheny. Raheny GAA will be arranging activities on the astro and hall in the afternoon and evening.
  • Raheny GAA 5 Year Plan is being reviewed by the incoming executive committee and the final report will be published and circulated to members in September.

  • Champions League Final on big screens in club lounge Sat 28th. All pints and long neck bottles are €3 between 7:30 - 9:30 for club members and their guests.

 

  • AFL5 continue their good start to the year with a home win: Raheny 3-16 Erins Isle 0-08. The match was over as a contest after 20 minutes as Raheny rattled the net 3 times, with Ciaran Murphy scoring 2-2 from play, Dave McGrath, Jimmy Keogh, Colly Donegan & Ryaner all scored a few points. The back line & midfield provided a very strong platform.
  • U15 hurlers had a good win Sunday morning at home to Good Counsel
  • MHL Minor Hurlers had a away good win Sun morning :St Peregrines 2-07 Raheny 1-12, with Robert Diffley putting in a great shift over the hour. Scores from Simon Deignan (1-01), Eoin Gillen, Fenton (0-03) Robert Dffley (0-1) Jack Dempsey (0-3) Danny Reid (0-01) . This was a good win in very windy conditions, Eoghan Smith played in goals due to an injury.
  •  AFL2 played at home Sat night: Raheny 1-06 Fingallians 2-08 In a reversal of the recent championship result, a poor performance on a windy night, the young Raheny team suffered a  their 1st league defeat and now have 7 points from 5 games.
  • Minor Football Goalkeeper Joe Dowling (No 16 below) is in the Dublin Campionship panel and played in Parnell Park on Sunday. Joe is a first year minor and has come through the club and Dublin development squads.
     
  • Good to see David Henry back in action for the DUBS, he scored a point from Centre Half forward in a challenge match v Monaghan on Friday evening.
  • A blast from the past - 1979.

  • Maybe a first in history of local schools and the club…….we have three main feeder schools and all of them are represented in Finals in Croke Park on Friday 27 and Monday 30 of May.

     

    The First up are the Scoil Aine Camogie Team, who play against Scoil San Trease, Mt Merrion in Friday 27 May at 12.45.  This team is mentored by Angela Harnett, Laura Sheppard and our GPO Niamh Duggan.

     

    Next up is St Brigids Boys School who are playing Scoil Olaf in the final on Monday 30th May at 11.30 under the watchful eyes of their Mentors two who ‘Hale’ from Kilkenny John Dermody, Willie Coogan and  young Kevin Kiely from Waterford..

     

    Scoil Assams Senior Hurlers who are mentored by Jack Roche and Donnchadh Kelleher, who has history with the Clare Minors, will go up against St Helens Portmarnock at 12.45 on Monday as well.

     

    Many congratulations to all three teams on reaching the finals and the very best of luck from everyone in Raheny Gaa. The groundwork and coaching of skills being put into camogie & hurling by school teachers and club coaches continues to pay dividends.
