Raheny Coaching Conference We held our first club coaching conference on Saturday 10th December. We had a great turn out of
60+ coaches from Raheny plus a number of coaches from outside the club who were invited.
Thanks to all involved in organising, feeding the masses and to all the
teams that took part as well. A special mention to TY students who gave
up their time to help with registration, serving food and cleaning up.

Raheny GAA All Stars and Raheny Golf SocietyHi all, (Stuart Baldwin)
As you may know, a portion of the golf entry fees was set aside this
year from our Friday evening golf outings to put towards something
worthwhile in the GAA club.
I'm delighted to say that we have been able to donate the 570 euro
raised to the Raheny GAA All Stars team. This group is the special needs
football team who take part in football training on the club astro
every Friday with the help of volunteer coaches from
the club. The money is being used to get Raheny jerseys and t-shirts
for the children and coaches from the club shop and equipment.
Well done to you all for contributing and Maria was delighted to get the support for her new initiative in the club.
See below the email from Maria
I wanted to say thanks again to the all of the Golf Society for the funds towards the newly named Raheny All Stars.
We bought the children new hats and jerseys with their team name on front and training tops for the coaches.
Also a big thanks to John from Super Value for the selection boxes.
I've attached a photo of the group, we had our
Christmas party last Friday in the club and presented everyone with
their new gear.
So thanks again, it was a great help in getting us started.
Happy Christmas & best wishes for the New Year,
Maria, Will and the Raheny All Stars
The U-7 Boys had a busy last week after hosting Clontarf GAA in challenge matches in hurling and football where they continued to make great progress in using all the skills covered during the coaching sessions of the last few months. On
Thursday the team were presented with their new jerseys by Cathal
McHugh of McHughs Restaurant Raheny who has kindly sponsored the new set
of jerseys.
Also
along on the night was "Sam Maguire" who made an appearance courtesy
of Shane O'Hanlon ( Dublin selector) and Michael Savage ( Dublin &
St.Vincent's goalkeeper).
Keep an eye out for our future stars in 14th December issue of the Northside People.
Finally
as if that wasn't hectic enough, to round off the year the Boys (45+)
and Mentors (15+) had a trip to the cinema on the Saturday followed by a
surprise visit from Santa.
The boys are a credit to themselves, their parents and the club and have a well earned rest until the 21st January 2017. Fixtures Dates for you Diary
The U12 Ladies Team are organising a 'Dip for Blossom'. Together with parents, family and friends (and some special guests!!), yes you got it, the team are dipping into the sea at Dollymount Strand (wooden bridge end) @ 12 noon on Tuesday 27th December.
Last year we had great support from players, parents, family, friends of our team (and club), and we are looking for your support again !!! Please come join us and support this fantastic charity.
After the Dip, we are hoping that all families will return to the GAA Club for something to warm you up (and for some live music).
This is the second year that the Dip for Blossom will be taking place and we are aiming for at least 200 people to participate - we intend to build on this in the years to come with members of Raheny GAA Club playing a pivotal role.
This promises to be a great day for family and friends to get together so please support Blossom Ireland & Raheny GAA.
GAA for Mas is Sunday evenings, if your interested in getting involved please contact Ide on 086-3806454.
