Club Notes 19th March 2012

posted Mar 21, 2012, 6:29 AM by Kevin Brassil

If your at a loose end at the weekend why not check out our club fixtures and support a home game.

This weekend was very sparse when it came to club games, however the club itself was very busy with it being Paddies Weekend and Mothers Day. A very lively day on Saturday with trad music, Rugby Game, All Ireland Club Finals and to top it all we had "Double Trouble" playing on Sunday Night.

Mothers Day started for certain members of the Social Committee very early and it wasn't a treat for them. Siobhan Reid, Eva Fitzsimons, Martina Finn, Donna Ivory, and Cherie Hyland gave up their morning to help raise money for a much deserving cause in Temple Street Hospital. These ladies served a lovely brunch to a number of Mums in the Club which began with a glass of bubbly a special treat. A big thank you to these ladies and also Eva Lawlor who was up at the crack of dawn making delicious scones, mixed berry and pear and vanilla to name a few.
There was a lovely balloon display from Dublin Balloon Company, which is situated above supervalu in the Walmer Centre, worth a visit or check out their website on If your ordering balloons for your party in GAA Hall theres even a discount.
The newly opened Haven an interior design shop which is situated where xtravision used to be gave us a lovely hamper for a raffle prize another shop worth a visit, as well as furniture there are beautiful candles, hand creams. Check out their website on And last but not least Aideen Kellett a Pilates instructor whose studios are in Clontarf, with Male only classes available (085-81443510).
Thank you so much to one and all.

Three young Manor House Ladies and Players in the club gave up their morning too, Aoife Costello, Cara O Donnell and Michelle Griffin this is their fourth year helping us out.

We are hosting a ‘Camogie & Girls Football Open Day’ on Saturday 24th March at 10am-12pm in Manor House School Astro Pitch for girls born between 2002-2005.  Registration starts at 9:45.  The morning of fun will be made up of mini leagues in Camogie and Football together with some obstacle courses and skills competitions.  Click here to read the article from the Northside People.

Senior Footballers and Hurlers have organised a great night on Friday 13th April, tickets 20 and can be purchased behind the bar, but be quick its limited to 200 and tickets are going fast, very fast.

On Wednesday Near FM are broadcasting live from the Club, (101.6fm) if your fancy listening in...

Three of our feeder schools are joining together to host a Pub Quiz in the Gaa Hall on Friday, this is their second year organising it and hopefully it will be as great a success as last year. Some great raffle prizes but you ll only find out how great by supporting the schools. Friday 23 March at 8.00pm, come early as last year it was standing room only.
