Raheny GAA U10 football report Sat 17th Oct
The U10 Raheny boys team hosted near neighbours Cluain Tarbh and Beann Eadair in a gaelic football blitz on Saturday 17th Oct on Pitch 12a of St Annes. This squad contains 3 teams Greens,Whites and Oranges. Raheny won all 6 of their matches in a fine overall performance. James Wall and Adam Flynn performed well for the Greens as they won 2 close matches. For the Whites Shay Keogh and Luke Fitzpatrick put in star performances against Clontarf. David Adams and Kevin Kelly were also impressive in the 2nd match against Beann Eadair.

The Raheny Orange team have been performing well lately and gave their best performance of the season to beat both their opponents. The first match vs Cluain Tarbh was very even in the first half. Raheny went in at the break only leading by 1 point but had Ted Laput, Harry Keegan and Jack Beary to thank for some fine defending to keep Cluain Tarbh out. Jack Gardiner and Ryan Markham switched to midfield for the 2nd half and put in a dominant performance to swing the game decisively in Raheny's favour. Charlie Ennis took some fine scores and in the end Raheny ran out clear winners. In the second match vs Beann Eadair Raheny started the stronger of the two sides and never let up. Padraig Reilly, Cathal Moran and Ryan Kerrisk won every ball in the middle of the park and some fine long distance scores from Brian Reddy gave Raheny a commanding lead. Beann Eadair fought back to get a couple of scores but fine defending from Patrick Bishop killed their momentum. Late scores from James Keating and Charlie Ennis ensured Raheny ran out the game in the same fashion they started with a comfortable victory.

Our u16 girls getting ready for combat‏

Thanks to all who supported our U10s fundraiser
on Friday, the Elvis night was a great success.

Well done to our U11 Camogie and Ladies Football team who enjoyed a great morning out at the first ever Mini Muckers event in Mondello. After an early start, almost 40 of our girls joined hundreds of other children.

A fun hay fight started the day, along with a hunt for a needle in the hay stack after one of our mentors wedding ring flew off during the fun. After the girls demonstrated their good searching skills, thankfully the ring was found.

After that excitement, it was time for the main event. The girls lined up at the starting line and after a great rendition of the Raheny song they were off.

The girls ran the 2km course climbing haystacks, scrambling under nets, hopping through tyres and then slipping and sliding through the mud. They enjoyed every minute. After a hosing down and a change into some clean clothes it was back to the club for some pizzas and chat. Great fun for the whole team.
