Club Notes 20th June 2017

posted Jun 20, 2017, 7:50 AM by Ger McGloin

Hi All,

We are all set for the Rush to Flush Club Fundraising Walk this coming Saturday (24th June). Let's hope the weather is as nice as this weekend!!

Each juvenile team of the Club should now be in receipt of sponsorship cards - can you kindly continue to promote this event for the next week with your team(s), families and friends, asking all players to collect as much sponsorship as possible. The sponsorship cards/money should either be returned to you (at training or at the walk on Saturday) - you might then kindly return to either Laura, Ali, Ciara or myself.

For those club members and friends walking this Saturday, we will 'walk off' at 12:30pm from pitch 9. We will have marshals /signs showing the way too!!! After the walk we will have some light refreshments in the Club Hall (bar will also be open).

Any friends or other family members walking on the day, we will have a registration desk (on pitch 9), a contribution of €10 per person / €25 per family is requested.

We understand that one or two teams can not participate in the walk at 12:30pm this Saturday, this is due to a match or other team commitments and if this is the case, can you organise your own team walk with all players (including parents and supporters if available) as early as possible.

We hope that you, your teams, families and friends will get behind this Club project.

Should you have any questions etc. please drop me a line.

Ní Neart go cur Le Chéile,

Regards,

Patrick

Race Night

Club Proud

This is a piece of news that needs to be told, Last Tuesday night as 3 Raheny GAA lads were walking home from the club, they noticed flames from the Old folks flats in Avondale. They got their mobile phones out (not to snap chat) but to call the fire brigade. Then they ran into the flats and helped evacuate the residents. Thankfully there were no fatalities. These young lads are HEROs. And we Raheny GAA are very proud of them. Well done Cian Storey and brothers James and Andy Keane.

Friendship Games

Our Ryan McGuirk and David Adams both off our under 12s. Played up in Belfast today in hurling and football in the friendships games through the schools, representing Dublin. Both codes won their games. Two boys to watch out for in the future.

Its on again..well not on as such..First game was supposed to be last Thursday 15th but Killmacud Crokes requested a postponment due to lack of numbers because of club commitments. So the first game took place last Friday 16th between Ciarans and Bin Eadair

2017 season got underway last Fri with Craobh Chiarain v Beann Eadair in Howth. Four 12 minute quarters in warm sunny conditions. The Craobh vets made their move in the second quarter and built up a lead that couldn't be closed, running out 4-12 to 0-2 winners. The match was played in the spirit of social hurling with some full blooded but fair challenges followed by a few nice pints in the clubhouse after.
