Tommy Hogan would like to pass on this message to all

“I would like to say thanks to all the people who sent messages wishing me well on my recent retirement, all those who sent cards and gifts and thanks to all the members who called to the club on December 30th to have a drink with me after I finished my last shift.  It has been my pleasure to have worked with members of the best club in Ireland . Thanks again.”

The Raheny AXA 5 is happening this Sunday, it would be great to see our members running in Club gear. We are asking that members should show their support for the "I love St Annes" campaign, please text Gerard on 0862479877 if your willing to wear a red balloon during the race to show your support, there will be a rally at 12pm on Sunday full details will follow.

As we all know the “Vincentian Order”  at St Paul’s Secondary School sold its land to a developer, who has now closed the gates.

Just before Xmas he applied for permission to build almost 560 units with apartment blocks 8 storey in height, which will over shadow Pitch 1 ,2 & 3.

Closing date to “An Bord Pleanala” for observation  is 5th February @530pm.
We believe the support of local sports clubs is key in making sure this doesn’t get any permissions.
Loss of amenities and not having a replacement is a key determining factor under the Z15 zoning.
We really would like to think that your club will make an observation.

You will find lots of information below on link and also on Facebook Page “I love St Annes”

A date for your diary 16th March is our 60th Anniversary Ball (black tie) in the Clontarf Castle tickets €75 each. Full details will be following.

Club Shop :- Will be open on the Saturday 9:20 till 12

Raheny U15s trip to Mayo

Raheny GAA U15 panel of 24 boys, 6 mentors and 5 parents headed off on the 7:30am train last Saturday to Breaffy, Co Mayo for a team building weekend.  Following in the footsteps of Intercounty Teams like Tipperary, Dublin and Mayo, the team stayed at the famous Breaffy House Hotel. The highlight of the trip was a challenge match on Saturday afternoon against an U15 team of local club Breaffy GAA, home of the O’Shea brothers. Both teams started slowly with the underfoot conditions being very challenging. Adam McAweeney started the scoring for Raheny with a point from a free. This kick started a period of dominance in the 1st half for Raheny with Brian Dunne scoring a goal as did Aaron Byrne minutes later. Points were followed up from Thomas Hurley and Aaron Byrne. Breaffy were denied a goal after a great penalty save from Joe Cooper.  Raheny lead 2-3 to 0-1 at half time. The start of the second half saw a resurgence by Breaffy but despite sustained pressure, Raheny only conceded 1-1. Raheny rallied with points from play by Dunne and McAweeney. Hurley added a final point from a free to see Raheny run out winners 2-6 to 1-2.  Raheny presented Breaffy with a plaque to commemorate the occasion. The Raheny boys enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool after the match following by dinner in the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately the bad weather meant that the adventure activities had to be cancelled on Sunday morning but the ever enthusiastic team returned to the swimming pool for another game of “water hurling”. A great trip was had by all. Thanks to Breaffy House Hotel and trip organisers Deirdre McAweeney and Katrina Grogan.
