Club Notes 25th April 2016

Congratulations to our Brian Fenton and the Dublin Senior Team on winning the Allianz Division 1 League Final v Kerry.  

Becky McMullan, Caragh Downey and Sinead Stack were all doning the blue jersey yesterday, Becky for U16a and Caragh and Sinead U16b who won the Leinster camogie Championship yesterday. 


Senior Hurlers had a win over Commercials in the intermediate championship, Raheny 1.6 to 0.14 Commercials.  

U17 ladies footballers are an a winning streak, Raheny 5.14 to 2.5 St Brigids, well done ladies.  

Our U16 footballers won their first match of the championship Raheny 5.8 to 3.10 Castleknock. 

Hard luck to our senior ladies footballers who lost to Crokes. 

Feile Girls Camogie.
Hard luck to our U14 camogie team in their Feile at weekend.  















Great night was had on Saturday Night with the unveiling of two Dublin jerseys for our wall of fame, Brian Fenton and David Henry and also a big thank you to Mary Henry and Miriam Markham who had retired from the Club shop.  We now a have a team of ladies running the shop which is open every Saturday morning 9.30- 12 (except bank holidays) also the first Thursday of the month from 8-9 Thursday week 5th May.

Pub Quiz :- One of our Local Secondary Schools are holding their annual Pub quiz on 5th May in the club hall at 8pm. 10euro per person and max of 6 people per table. Please support well.


















Ogra 

There will be NO Saturday morning Orga on 30th April due to the Bank Holiday weekend. 

There will be Ogra on Friday evening @ 6pm on pitch 12A

We're always looking for volunteers to assist with coaching, admin/registration, and preparation of the fresh fruit (on Saturdays). Absolutely no experience is required for any of the roles. The Ogra caters for our youngest players - if you are interested in playing games with school friends just pop up to the club either day, we are sure you will have a great time.

Raheny GAA Golf Society
Thanks to all who played last Friday's 12 hole completion  and there was a great buzz back in the GAA club afterwards. Huge competition in the Leech household as you will see from below!

Result
1st place ( 40 euro McGuirks voucher) Conor Burns - 29 points
2nd place (30 euro voucher) Kevin Leech - 25 points (count back on last 6)
3rd place (20 euro voucher)  Ronan Leech - 25 points (count back on last 3)

Honorable mentions to Eoin Leech and Neil Kelly who also got 25 points but lost out on the count backs. However,  they got some golf balls as a consolation prize.

Please note the next outing is Friday 27th May in St Annes so please keep the date free.

Summer Club Fundraising Golf Classic

 

Please note you may know from other emails that there is a special separate Club fundraising golf outing at 2pm on  Friday August 12th in Luttrellstown - please contact  Brian Kavanagh briankavanagh@gaelic.ic  or Andrew Dowling advancedvending3@gmail.com if you wish to take part in that or indeed sponsor a hole (Team of 4 Players costs €380 which includes round of golf, golfers grill and 4 drink vouchers for use in club bar that evening).
