FEILE FOOTBALLERS
On Friday 27th the U14 Boys as Dublin Feile football  Champions 2014, headed down to Mayo to represent Dublin in The National Feile Competition, We were hosted by Breaffy Club, and were given a fantastic reception all weekend, they were fantastic,

Our first game Friday played in Swinford,  we played Parke and after a few scary moments, we scored 1.01 in last 2 minutes to secure a draw. In our second game on Friday again in Swinford, we played Newbridge GAA from Derry, we an out convincing winners after a terrific performance. On to Friday nite the kids met their host families and the parents met all the host parents, A fantastic night was held in our “Student Accommodation” by the Raheny parents who got to know each other a lot more !!

On to sat morning and our game Vs the Hosts Breaffy, a great game by two great teams with Raheny coming out on top. Again, the host club were fantastic with water and lunch after the game for all.

On to sat afternoon, back to Swinford to play our quarter final of the Feile, as had now qualified as ground winners to play the Waterford Champions, after playing fantastic football, and again another few scary moments,  we won game by a point to qualify for semi final on the Sunday morning in the Centre of Excellence in Ballyhaunis Co Mayo, so after a disco hosted by Breaffy, and some speeches, its was off to bed for all,

On the Sunday we said good bye to our hosts and left for Ballyhaunis, where we were fixed to play London, a reprehensive side. After a great start , London got back in to the game and with some luck, Raheny could have won it, in the end we lost by a point, could have gone either way. Raheny players were fantastic all weekend, so well behaved and  fantastic ambassadors for families and Raheny GAA club, they are a fantastic team and can be very proud of their achievements, they have made friends for life and a credit to them all, we are so proud of you all,

To all the parents/auntie/Nannies, the most dedicated supporters ever, we say a massive thank you, for all your help and support, to all the club who made it a special weekend, to many to say that’s you to, but you all know who you are, also a huge thank you to Breaffy GAA Club, who made it so special, we hope to see them Raheny in next few months,

Memories forever,
Brendan & Adrian,

Our U13 camogie girls traveled to Sarsfield Gaa in Cork for a challenge match on Saturday, a fantastic day out was had by all.

While our feile boys were doing the parish proud at the feile peil in Mayo our u13 camogie players took the journey south to Sarsfields GAA club in Cork. It was a special journey for the Ni Bhradaighs who were making a return to the club that they started playing camogie with. So with Lilí and Eabha employed as interpreters we set off for the real Capital.
This was a great trip and Sarsfields Glanmire are a great club to visit and Eamonns friend Paddy Connery who is from na Piarsigh but now coaching in Sarsfields (similarities)
Took the girls for a coaching session and our interpreters werent needed as Paddy was an engaging and inspiring and typical Corkman in his element coaching the game he loves.
In the game afterwards on a perfect pitch we had powerful performances and displays of skill from Megan our rock in Goal to no.15. Hannah and Ciara Storey marked tight and cleared an amount of ball and Molly and Sinead Ahearne grew in confidence during the game . Our wing backs Aoife and Shauna enjoyed their best games this year and Alla Fitz was a bundle of energy midfield along with the hard tackling and hard working Lauren Robinson. Sinead Doherty, Aisling and our excellent debutant -Treasa kept the scoreboard ticking over while Niamh switched the play because she was listening. Lucy Ryan made even more progress and drank 84 cups of tea. Well done Lucy..The girls of the hour being Lilí and Eabha who got in on the act with two great goals down in their first parish. Dara still recovering was there as usual with support from the line and she presented Paddy with sliothars on behalf of the team. The sarsfields team had some fantastic hurlers as you would expect from a great club in Cork.
We would like to say a big thanks to the Girls from Sarsfields and their parents who put out a great spread and of Course to our new friend Paddy who had the last word on the bus before we left...sure we cant understand Eamonn so we certainly haven't a clue what Paddy said but it sounded good and the OBhradaighs were smiling. The bus journey home was a haribo fuelled trip of fun and some of us were in a hurry to make in to the club and the speed bumps and sound track from frozen.....'let it go' provided by others didnt help PHEW....Sarsfields will pay us a visit in StAnnes in the future and we look forward immensly to hosting the rebel camogs when they visit.

Senior Hurlers are looking for the 16th man on Saturday v Parnells.

Full details of matches appear on our webpage and mentors are remained to inform PRO of any match changes so the rest of our members can be informed.
