Raheny GAA invites all Club Members, Families and Friends to join us in a 5km Fundraising Walk within St. Anne's Park on Saturday 24th June 2017@12:30 - 14:30 [walk starts from pitch 9].
The aim of "The Rush to Flush" fundraising walk is to raise vital funds to renovate the toilet areas within the Clubhouse, starting at the ground floor!! If you have been in the Club recently, you will know that these toilets are long overdue to be flushed out!!  - this is where we need your support...
All players within the Club will be provided with a Sponsorship Card and are asked to seek sponsorship for “The Rush to Flush” walk.  Cards can be returned to mentors before or on the 24th June.
For those club members and friends who do not receive a sponsorship card, a contribution of €10 per person / €25 per family is requested on the day.
On return to the Club we will have music and some light refreshments.
Finally, this is a Club initiative and we need all teams support in improving our Clubhouse/facilities and this is a great place to start... All funds raised from this fundraising walk will be used solely to renovate the toilets. All Club members will be kept updated on monies raised, costs and planned dates of refurbishments.
We hope that you, your teams, families and friends will get behind this project.

Senior B Hurling Championship :- Raheny 0-15 Oliver Plunketts. 2-8

Hard luck to our own Aoibhin McCarthy who was playing for the Dublin Ladies against Galway in the U14A All Ireland Semi Final

Junior Hurlers

The Junior hurlers got back to winning ways on Tuesday night in a keenly contested contest in Finglas. After losing the toss Raheny faced into a strong wind in the first half. It was nip and tuck until the 20th minute when centre half forward Ger Sheehy went off with a hand injury and we conceded a goal immediately after. Given the conditions the lads felt that six points was a gap we could close. However Erin’s Isle got the first score of the second half. However we went on a run after that and got the next six points in a row as Cormac Flynn and Cian Daly chipped in with some nice scores, Cian got one from a sideline but his best was when straight from their puckout he controlled the ball on his hurl and then struck it straight over the bar.

This left us one point adrift and it looked like we would push on. Alas the levelling score proved elusive and for 10 minutes we went scoreless while Erin’s Isle extended their lead. With only a few minutes left it looked like we might have left it behind us but the evergreen Nodge popped up with a goal out of the blue, followed up by 2 more points in quick succession. Erin’s Isle came close to a goal with the clock ticking down but we held firm and the whistle went.

It was a great display,  full of commitment and good solid hurling from the 17 men that took the field. We are now 2 from 2 in the championship with Sylvesters to play next, the playoffs beckon.

Congratulations and Thank You's
