Club Notes January 2nd 2012

First New year congratulations go to Martina Byrne, Ciara Burgess and Aoife Kelly on their Dublin Camogie Stars awards, also to Siobhan Woods and Siobhan Killeen on their Dublin Ladies Football stars awards. Ladies Dubs stars won both games last Tues vDublin & thanks to hosts St Brigids.


Congrats also to Gavin Ivory who finished fourth in TG4s Cuil na mBliana competition. A great achievement amongst sterling company.


The various Adult teams are selecting their panels for 2012 and pre-season training will commence shortly, more to follow.

Managers, Coaches, Selectors are still required for 2012 season for the following Adult teams:

· Senior Hurlers AHL2,

· Ladies Division 2 Adult Football

· Junior Football AFL11

· MFL Minor Football

· MHL Minor Hurling

For fundraising purposes please donate your old mobiles and ipods. Check out at home, with family and friends re same. Collection Box available in clubhouse for the next few weeks.







A big welcome to our new Games Promotion Officer, David O'Callaghan who starts full time from January 2012. We all look forward to working with David in the coming years as we strive for continous improvement in Coaching of players and mentors across all codes within the club and also within the local schools.www.raheny.gaa.ie/parents/games-promotion-officer


A number of jerseys have 'reappeared' thanks, there are still quiet a few adult & juvenile jerseys missing, all players are asked to check and if any turn up, please drop them back to your manager or into the clubhouse during pre-season.


St Anne’s Park remains closed for team training and matches until further notice.


The Coaching tab on the website has lots of information for players, parents and mentors, well done to Kevin Broderick for keeping it up to date and informative. Anybody interested in GAA Coaching Courses should visit the website or contact Kevin.

The GYM has been cleaned up over the holidays, a reminder that only RAHENY GAA CLUB MEMBERS are entitled to use the GYM and all are asked to keep it clean & tidy. The dropping of weights down onto tiles is strictly prohibited. CLUB MEMBERS are not permitted to bring friends / non members into the GYM area.


Winter Training Slots for club Gym and Astro Jan-March are being booked, Mentors should now book places with their Section Co-ordinator.

Well done to Colum O’Leary who beat Delaneys donkey by a short head to win the half mile race last week.



Congrats to Mick O’Keefe and Kelli on their engagement last week.
