Junior C:
  • North City Div.10:
  • Raheny: 2 gls 17Pts.
  • Scoil Ui Chonaill:0 gls 9 pts.
A sparkling performance by the Junior C footballers against near neighbours, Scoil Ui Chonaill, saw them emerge as very comfortable winners in this North City Div.10 League fixture. An interesting twist to the game was the conflicting loyalties of the Egan family . Scoil Ui chonaill manager on the night was family chief, Liam, while son Kevin, played a pivotal role at centre forward for Raheny in helping to carve out the Raheny victory with a fine all round display, scoring 3 well taken points in the process. After a slow start, during which Scoil chalked up 4 pts without reply, Raheny got down to business, and slowly but surely began to push ahead with points from Rob'O Neill (4); Cian Daly (3) Alan White (2) Mikey Mc Shane( 2 ); Andrew Dowling and Ciaran Sutton ( 1 each). 2 well taken second half goals by Rory Boyle and Declan Donohue reinforced Raheny's superiority on the night.

  • 3-08 v 0-7 St.Judes 24/7

AFL8

AFL2

U8's
At the end of May, Portlaoise GAA welcomed Raheny under 8's to their new grounds in Rathleague. Our 52 seater coach was full to the brim, 32 players and 20 parents/mentors.
We had a great time and some very exciting hurling and gaelic football matches took place between the 2 clubs. Many thanks to Damien Lynch and all at Portlaoise for a great day and wonderful hospitality.
Afterwards we went in to OMoore Park to watch the Dubs take on the Cats in minor and senior hurling. The older Dubs had no luck but the minors beat Kilkenny and proceeded to beat Wexford to earn Leinster final success.
As a follow up to our inaugural trip out of Dublin, we invited Portlaoise to a return fixture on Saturday last, up in St Annes.
The weather stayed mainly fine and we played out 6 exciting matches. Honours ended up just about even over the morning, with the standard being particularly high in the A hurling match. We picked up plenty of ideas from Portlaoise for things to work on over the coming months.
We would like to thank all the parents who helped out with pitches on Saturday. Also big thanks to Aisling, Brian and Marc for refereeing.
Even more so we would like to say a big thank you to all the Mums who put on a great BBQ, sandwiches and lovely cakes for both teams (and mentors!!) afterwards. Some spread!
We hope to keep up the connection with Portlaoise and are aiming to meet up again for a 4 team blitz in September.
Well done to all the players, keep up the practice. Parents, encourage your boys to get their hurley in their hands for 10 minutes every day. You will see the improvement.
Training resumes on Wednesday 1 August at 6pm pitch 9, All Saints Road. Hurling training this week.

Our 2nd Summer Camp was a resounding success with over 170 children attending. Many thanks to all involved especially all the volunteers. Our next camp will take place on August 13-17 from 9am-1.30pm, registration forms available to club lounge and foyer or Click here to download application form.
