Club Notes March 17th 2014

posted Mar 19, 2014, 1:15 PM by Kevin Brassil

OGRA is back on Saturday 10am and club shop open from 10-12.

Tickets for Mothers Day Brunch will be available from the coffee dock (and behind the bar) on Saturday. This is our 5 year holding this event, please help it be the most successful ever, All monies go to Temple Street Hospital.

Many congratulations to Maire Ni Ceallaigh on receiving the presidents award from Liam O'Neill on Friday night.

Family Bingo
Greg was asked to put out seating for 60 people for the U14 camogie Bingo last Friday night. With lots of calls, The Raheny grapevine went in to overdrive and 130 people turned up! Girls from all ages of Camogie/Football arrived with their families along with a good number of serious Bingo aficionados. With lots of calls for "Hush" & explanation of the rules Bingo got underway. With over 50 prizes for lines, panels, spot prizes & the raffle, there was a lot of winners. The best response of the night came from Isobel McConnell when she won a panel, running from the back of the hall shouting "I can't believe it", it was as if she had won the lotto. Thanks to all who turned up, helped organise the event and donated spot prizes - a truly memorable night for all the girls.

Not much happening on the playing fields this week, our minor B had a challenge match and U13 girls put in a great performance against  O dwyers on saturday afternoon.

SENIORS FUNDRAISING CYCLE
5th was the 50km sponsored cycle from Raheny to Dalkey and back for the Snr div 1 footballers. The weather on the day was great and so were the participants who put in a great effort. It was great to see everyone make it back in one piece although some were a little worse for wear!! I would like to say a big thank you to Neil Curly,  Charlie Meade, Brendan Keane, Tom O Reilly and Tom Dwyer for putting in a huge amount of time and effort in organising this event. A big thank you also goes out for all who took part and helped raise funds for the team and for those who donated prizes for the raffle.
