U9 BOYS
15 hardy Raheny U9s gathered at St Vincent's Boys School in Glasnevin last Sunday for our second Gaelic Football blitz organised by Paddy Connolly, Na Fianna's U9 manager.
Teams from Sarsfields in Newbridge, Cuala, St Sylvester's, Na Fianna & Raheny participated. We played matches against all 4 clubs so it was big ask stamina wise of all these young players. Every single one of our players played stormers as we all showed the skills we have learned this year. The level of improvement this year is great to see, the lads are really starting to find their feet.
We had 15 players on the day so Ben, Damian and Jacques played for Cuala to make it 12 a side to give each boy a full game in each fixture. Thanks to the boys, there was not one complaint. We feared that the Southside air might prove appealing but thankfully the lads are staying put in Raheny!
Overall our skill level is improving with each game. Man of the day goes to Cormac Lenihan who absolutely ran himself into the ground in his best display all year. Great support from Scott Dennis and Sam Grant.
Huge thanks to Paddy Connolly in Na Fianna for organising these blitzes. They are a massive help for players and mentors giving our boys more time on the ball and more game time.
Well done to Ben, Ciaran, Cormac, Ruairi, Karl, Stefan, Rueben, Morgan, Jacques, Damian, Robert, Danny, Roman, Sam, Scott. Great bunch of boys!
