“Early start in Saggart”

Due to fixture congestion in Saggart the match was brought forward from 11.30 to 10.30 so the Raheny lads had an early start but this didn’t hinder them as they started the game well going into a 4 point to no score lead in the opening minutes, this dominance continued through the 1st half thanks to some excellent work in the middle of the park and a very solid performance in defence giving the visitors a 6 point advantage at half time (1.06 to 0.03).The 2nd half saw St.Marys play with a lot more focus and urgency scoring 3 unanswered points before Raheny got back into their stride. Mid way through the half St. Marys had reduced the gap to 2 points when Joe Dowling pulled off a fantastic save form a close range shot, this proved to be the wakeup call Raheny needed, taking a grip of the game and cruising to a 8 point victory, proving that while scoring a goal can change a game stopping 1 at the other end can be just as inspirational.

Thank to all the Parents for the support and lifts.
