Lucan Sarsfields 1-08

Raheny              1-09

Played Sat 17th in Lucan.

A very good team effort by Raheny to fend off Lucan in the Shield C'ship Quarter Final.

Raheny started off well with a strong wind at their backs. Some fine scores by Eoin Gillen, Alan Gibbons, David Lowe and Shane Homan left Raheny leading 5 points to 2 at half time.

In the 2nd half, Lucan came out very strongly to score some good points. With the game evenly poised with 6 minutes left, Shane Homan broke free to shoot, his shot dropped short, Jack Dempsey collected the ball, turned and shot to the net, leaving Raheny ahead by 2. Eoin Gillen followed with a pointed free kick, however Lucan scored a goal to tie the game. Shane Homan stepped up, collected the ball at half-way, drive forward and kicked a point, the winner as the final whistle blew.

Great performances in the engine room from the likes of Dave O'Hara, Paul Harkin, Ciaran Sutton and David Lowe.
